Superintendent Message July 1, 2021
Welcome to Bath County Schools “Where Adults Lead and Kids Succeed!” It is my honor to be the new superintendent of such a great district and community and I am looking forward to being a part of the Bath County family. Our board of education, staff and teachers are second to none and are hard at work preparing to make this the best school year ever for our students. I am excited to see all that our staff and students can and will accomplish.
Bath County Schools have and continue to provide a high quality education for our students. This year we will begin to implement systemic changes that will have a positive impact on every facet of our district. Our students will see upgrades in our facilities, have more opportunities to participate in clubs and organizations, and most importantly, see changes in how we teach and assess resulting in higher academic attainment. All of these changes will lead to developing well rounded students who are prepared for the next stage of their lives. Opportunities to attend college, enrolling in trade school, or entering the workforce will be readily available and as a direct result our community will benefit from this highly skilled and talented workforce.
I am excited to be a part of this change because I know how much it will positively impact our students and their futures. As we move forward, I ask for your support as well. Our students cannot succeed without the support of their families and this great community. I would like to conclude by sharing with our students, a phrase often spoken by former Centre College President, Mr. John Rousch: “Do your best, be your best, no regrets.” To every Bath County student I say make this your year!
Steven R. Evans, Superintendent
